Nicholas Neale is a clinical psychologist who has worked across public hospital, research and community settings, supporting people experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns. He is currently working with adults across a range of areas. Nick brings a warm, empathic and collaborative approach to therapy, with an emphasis on developing an authentic relationships. He helps clients to explore what they may wish to understand, integrate, make peace with, or let go of. His approach draws on evidence-based therapies including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR). Nick also has expertise in psychedelic-assisted therapy. In 2021, he worked as a core therapist on a world first trial investigating psilocybin-assisted therapy for methamphetamine use disorder at St Vincent's Hospital. Since then, he has contributed to research investigating psychedelic-assisted treatments for addiction, depression and PTSD, alongside providing psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration in community settings. Nick also lectures in psychedelic-assisted therapy at the Black Dog Institute and provides training to health professionals. He completed MAPS training in MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD through Monash University in 2023.
